      I watched the thread,
      slip from my fingers,
      cold as steel.

      I couldn’t hold the end,
      or trace the start.

      Like a shadow in alleys,
      following the hunt,
      its shadow in my chest,
      too swift to name.

      I watched the thread
      through the silence.

      You can only sense
      when nothing stirs.

      I felt tremors pulse
      through skin, t…Read More

      • I was just thinking the other day of all the ways of saying and meanings for unravel. This is a potent expression of it 😊

      Love Sonnet LXXXI

Love Sonnet LXXXI   I watch the full moon rise outside my window, its beams slowly reflect across your naked skin.   You stir some, sigh, as my fingers caress gently patterns across your breasts. Yaraa, let me love you like the   gently rains of Springtime as it plays upon...

    • April Poetry #5

April 5 is just another day
in a year already a fourth
of its life gone. But this day
has no song, unless you want
to count the rhythm and noise
      of imperial bombs sent by
the “shining light on top of
the hill”, who has always promised
the grave and the slave. April 5,
      just another day where they
      say all this hor…Read More

      • I was thinking this morning about that phrase march to the beat of your own drum. But the noise of the world is so loud these days it’s difficult to hear it. Those last lines…damn!

    • Sorry??

What does the word even mean
An apology that is supposed to be given when felt
The word does not erase the feelings
      That absolute absurdity of it

As a child you were made to say your sorry
Looking in that same child’s eyes
There is not an ounce of remorse
      Confusion
      Anger

      Adolescents are no better
      Sorry rolls off the…Read More

      • A ‘sorry’ like this is nothing more than the ego trip to make whoever said it feel good about themselves and nothing to do with changing what they have done. To be truly sorry, takes action, means changing attitude, behavior, and not doing whatever they have done again. A good poem for day #5 of poetry month, Fia. -Curt

      • I remember my grandma used to sit down and talk quietly with us when we did something we shouldn’t have. She’d explain how our actions hurt someone else, how it made them feel and asked how we would feel if it was done to us. She wanted to be sure we understood the repercussions of our actions, no automatic apology was expected. She knew we needed to feel it for it to really matter. I don’t think a lot of people take the time to do that these days. It’s just a reflexive “say you’re sorry” to the child without explanation. Doesn’t mean much that way. And then it perpetuates longevity for the behavior. This is a solid “got away from me ” piece

        • Thank you willow. I meant for it to be short and I don’t know what happened. But I agree with you. If you do not understand why you are saying it. It means nothing.

      • Terrific write Fia.

Sorry is only one of the many words that leave our lips without any real truth or understanding.

      • good observational write. Well described. It is worth saving and recalling this write, for others too. A mantra to be wary of false words, including apologies.

      • Powerfully penned, Fia. Another excellent musing my friend. Amazing observation as always. Nicely done. Appreciate you, Cuz.
