April 5th, Ghostships Drift Through the Mind
On the 5th,
the myth of the ghostships returns
adrift,
unhurried,
moving with the slow authority
of things that have forgotten
what it means to have a destination. They glide across the inner horizon,
full of voids and echoes
from the beginnings of time,
carrying the dust of ancient…Read More -

April 4th, the Compass Forgets Its Duty
The 4th takes my north,
reduces my compass
to a mere spasm of air
shivering through the half‑open window
on the left side of the house. It doesn’t steal direction violently.
No, April 4th is far too elegant for that.
It simply rearranges the wind,
tilts the light,
and suddenly every cer…Read More -

This is the second great piece I’ve read on here today…..perhaps it’s got something to do with a bunny.

I love that hope is a bird. It has that feeling about it of flight. Beautifully written with wonderful imagery

Beautifully penned, PAR. Into the book it belongs! Excellent write with amazing storytelling that’s nestled in wisdom. Chef’s kiss my friend. Really love this one brother. Appreciate you.

When the Bird Returns to Remind Us We’re Still Human
On the 3rd,
we all see a bird coming back home
as if it had been waiting
for April’s foolishness to calm down
before daring to cross our skies again. It glides in with that effortless arrogance
only birds and very old truths possess,
cutting a clean line through the blu…Read More -

April Fools is practically every day for me. There’s no April 2nds in my life. Awesome piece my friend!!

Something about the way April Fools attracts those with sharpened words and mean thoughts out into the open for a day has always felt wrong to me. I love how you take back the arena with April 2nd, pushing those with ill intentions and bad behavior back into the shadows.

Brilliantly penned, PAR. Excellent write that’s an amazing sequel to “April 1st” my friend. Both writes stand on their own respectively but reading them back to back is chef’s kiss brother. The contrast between the two writes is next level good. I’m a fan of both but dare I say I the sequel might be a smidgen better. Always enjoy reading your work. Appreciate you.

Pretty cool poem, PAR. As I read, I felt some of the verses had the feel of a Pablo Neruda texture. April 5th is here and the poetry is honestly flowing. -Curt
