    Sea turtle

In another life, I have been a sea turtle.Grown up without a mother.Never been taught by anyone. And yet?In the end?I have made my way in the ocean.

    Light and Shadow

When she walks on by that is beautiful. With something about her, I cannot ignore. My eyes follow her blinklessly into blinding light. With something about her, I can gaze. Her perfect form eclipses the sunlight, and I am cast...

    • Nice take on the old battle of light and shadow. Not overdone, yet with plenty of detailed lines to make it strong.
      well done.

  • Snowflakes

Small, white ballerinas. In the air cold, divine. Is what snowflakes are. You play to pass the time. They gracefully move through the air.And land in a pile. White blanket, sun in the air.And they have a friendly smile. The air is their dance floor. Their destination is the...

  • 100 years

It's been an year. Then ten..Been a hundred years. But nobody knew what it meant.Over the years,I sang this song.Hoping you will appear, confess to me. And try to sing along. When roses bloom, and clouds are gloomy.I crossed the roads oh so busy. To find...

    • I enjoyed this read. My favorite stanza is:

” Thousands of lives lived without you.
So I will cherish this only one.
For if I am reborn and you are not there.”

    • An age-old dilemma I’m afraid. Unrequited love, or at least attention. You write is a calm plea perhaps, yet we’ve all nodded our heads to your message.

  • Your American Flag Was Made In China

The key to paradise was made in China. 30% of the worlds manufacturing is made in China as of 2023.Second is the United States at only 15%.Here are the reasons why:Lower WagesChinese LaborNo UnionsA Massive Labor PoolHorrible working conditionsGovernmental...

    • If we could see all the corruption in the world, the earth would light up like a night sky with a million stars. You did such a incredible and detailed analysis here, VOI. Great work.

    • The problem isn’t China it’s us….the consumer that buys their products.
Before China there was Japan and after China there will be others for multinational corporations to plunder and exploit and we will continue to buy from them
      Great thought provoking write.

      • You’re correct. The US always had others making cheaper, and or better made products. From the 1970’s forward, many of our products were made overseas. Thanks Pete.

    • Powerfully penned, Keith. Excellent write my friend. Appreciate you.

    • Can we stop buying what is presented to us cheaply. Prices go up and we are stuck in the hamster wheel of wanting to do right but it’s often not.

      • Of course not. It’s the CEO’s of these firms not wanting to pay American workers cause we want more then minimum wage and representation through the unions. I mean why not! Thanks Fia.

    • I remember seeing a video where someone took a MAGA hat and turned it around to show it was made in China…which pretty much sums up the issue. Take as much as possible, give back as little as possible and never worry about the other guy. The humanity of the world has become devalued. Brilliant piece

      • HA! Love it! That’s great. People today worry about their own hides and nothing more. Each year it continues to become more & more of a problem where the values of people in general are at the lowest common denominator. Thanks Willow.

    • Good work here. Plain, clear, brief, and to the point. It puts all we do in perspective regarding manufacturing and consumption. There are many causes: corruption, greed, graft, poverty, laziness, stupidity, sickness, mental illness, and lack of education are the prime movers. Mix and match and you get governments — meaning the PEOPLE who govern –that are corrupt, uncaring, inefficient, underfunded, overwhelmed, and driven by combinations of all those causes I mentioned. What do you get? Man’s inhumanity to man, our oldest and most practised activity.

This is a nice piece, well said.
