Damian, this is the real grit of what poetry can be when told by a poet who knows the dark roads taken by many. I could see the imagery rolling like the driver on a fogbound road headed for the mercy of the night. Each stanza is strong as a shot of whisky at midnight. This is what poetry is all about. I felt this brother. Appreciate you.

Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, John. So glad you connected with the write my friend. Unfortunately I know those dark roads all too well myself. Experience is often gained through trial and error, wisdom comes from learning from those mistakes made along the way. Thanks brother.. Appreciate you.

Extemporaneous and spontaneous! Your poem has stardust expertly thrown all over it. Akin to a lucid dream, the images and interpretations glide freely about, touching down for a mere second. This is the kind of write that gets better and better the more I read it and allow it to absorb. Fantastic piece, Fia.
Thank you for sharing this

There’s so much power in a word. How they’re used is where the danger lies…or the beauty. Nope, there’s nothing nonsensical about this
