Just gave it a listen. The song wasn’t on my radar when the poem was written but I can understand being able to relate the two. I set words free into the ether and then sit back and watch as each gives their own connections to the words. Some things I’ve really worked over and liked barely received a blip of reaction. Some things have just come to me and I never gave a second thought to, and got raved over by comparision.
I liked this because it was short and sweet, spoke volumes in a pint size, and rhymed – which is a struggle for me, so I guess the stars aligned. For me it had nothing to do with death at all, but i can understand that too. Once you’ve set something free it takes on a life of its own. And that’s as it should be.

I’m always gobsmacked by my own response when I read something that will stop and make me think how I can be better at being more generous. For me, this write had me thinking just that. If one had to describe themselves to another without stating profession, education, faith system, political leanings, family or organizational relationships, what word would describe one’s self best? Would it be lover, fighter, friend, peace keeper, or something else? I am a seeker.
