    Unraveling

I watched the thread, slip from my fingers, cold as steel. I couldn’t hold the end,or trace the start. Like a shadow in alleys, following the hunt, its shadow in my chest, too swift to name. I watched the threadthrough the silence. You can only sensewhen nothing stirs. I...

    • Supposedly, if we look deep enough inside ourselves we’re bound to find the answers that haunt us. I for one have never had much luck with that. All I find are more questions and a murky shadow.

      • A lot of us find shadows instead of answers when we look inward. Your comment captures that feeling well, Tim.

    • Powerfully penned, CG. Another excellent write with deep layers, and dark undertones hiding in the shadows my friend. Amazing work. Appreciate you.

    • I have never been in the path of a tornado. But I have been in my share of storms that I should have listened to clear out. Strongly felt piece

    • Animals have that sense about them we don’t. You’ll often see cats and dogs react moments before an earthquake. Great picture and poem here.

      • You’re right, Tim. Animals always seem to sense what we try to ignore. My dogs know before me.

    • Powerfully penned, CG. Excellent write with precise imagery my friend. Outstanding visuals as always. Appreciate you.

      Damian

      • Damian, that means a lot. I’m grateful the visuals spoke to you the way they did. Appreciate you, truly. 🙂

    • Dear CG,

This write had me thinking about life’s events. Not just Mother Nature and her wrath but knowing relationships are shifting towards an end but hoping if I ignore it it will pass me by. The under current of kinetic energy throughout the piece is great because it sets an inevitable conclusion that comes despite our hope. Terrific writing. H🌷
