April 30th, last day of
Poetry Month, arrives
with showers, grey skies,
and sadness. Fitting I
suppose referring to
the old saying, ‘April showers,
May flowers’, those Springtime

Hi Willow, I really appreciate your comment on this poem. I think your are right about the ‘filter’ of how words land with someone. It’s hard at times, even in real, face to face conversation, but here or on any social media website, it’s even harder. And yes, words are powerful and dangerous. I’ve found that more often than not, people translate words through whatever filter they’re currently struggling with. It may not have anything to do with us even. But our words have impact, not always how we meant them, and their responses have an equal impact. Words are powerful and because of that, can be dangerous. Even if unintended. I feel this one
