Concordant Discord, Discordant Concord

April 19th wakes up
already arguing with itself.
It stretches, yawns,
and immediately disagrees
with the way the light enters the room.

But then,
in a twist only April could have invented,
it agrees
to disagree
as long as the disagreement
keeps agreeing
with the deeper, quieter truth
that nothing in this month
has ever been simple.

This is the day
when discord and concord
sit at the same table,
sip the same lukewarm coffee,
and nod politely
while contradicting each other
with perfect synchronization.

April 19th is a negotiation
between opposites
that secretly adore each other.

It says:
I will disagree with you
as long as my disagreement
supports your agreement
that disagreement
is the only thing
we can agree on.

And somehow,
miraculously,
it works.

The air hums
with cooperative contradiction.
The sky frowns
in a very approving way.
The ground trembles
with stable uncertainty.

Even the cats,
still glowing faintly
from the 10th,
walk in zigzags
that form perfect straight lines
if you squint hard enough.

that understands
the beauty of paradox:

can hold hands
without canceling each other,
that discord can be harmonious,
that agreement can be rebellious,
that the world can tilt
and still remain upright.

It ends with a shrug,
a nod,
a shake of the head,
