The Feather
A single solitary feather falls into my palm
I smile ,,,
This feather as light as it is
Made it possible to soar into the sky
To catch a current and glide
I smile ,,,
Knowing that even though I am grounded
My thoughts soar like a bird
It catches the perfect flow
I just glide -

Beautifully penned, Fia. Such a lovely and hopeful write my friend. Mark (Styxian) is a guy that inspires many of us and is one hell of a writer. I like this one a lot, nicely done as always. Appreciate you, Cuz.

Awwww. This is so heart felt and obviously I get it!
We are a community of writers. Here to encourage and inspire.
When I first encountered Mark on DUP it took me a while to leave a comment.
His work was so good and I wanted to leave a worthy comment and I was speechless!
I finally did and our friendship grew.
It makes me proud and happy to see it’s not just me:)This write is vivid for its brevity.
Just wonderful amiga:) -
My dear Fia, we are all writers, if not poets. We are creators, builders. That puts us in good company with the better half of humanity. Hope and kindness carries much of our personal burdens for us. So much out there wants to destroy, so we huddle at our little spots and write of renewal, in so many different ways. It really does help build our strengths, our character.
I don’t think it is a matter of working harder. I think it is more about expanding on ideas of what to write. The subjects that intrigue us, perhaps. I hope that this site continues to grow, so that we get more and more diversity of talent and expression.
You excel at this, yaknow. You have great skills for this. Because you truly do love the act of writing, yes?
We are as good as the company that we keep. You belong.

Erotic Gardener…That is a good name. Your poem gives me a subtle invitation in the beginning without saying it out right till the end what the tree was.

Adds a whole new dimension to “grow-your-own” – I’ll remember your little gem next time I “grow-my-own” on the allotment!

Hoi hoi!
Love your poem to bits.My love and I have an allotment garden for 10 years.
But I never heard of earth day before.I planted an acer in my son’s garden on the 22nd.
What a find, this poem of yours on earth day where everything comes together
Talking bout a secret garden!
Kind regards, Gus
