I’m here to meet some friends 

maybe you might have seen them

they could be carrying pens

I think everybody got an invitation 

but I’m not sure how many came

no, it’s not a formal occasion

some maybe haven’t found their way

we normally meet around the bonfire

tonight we had to change our plans 

we just had to move the party inside

it’s the weather, you understand 

I’m a Midwest girl, you know

I recognize a storm when it’s brewing 

and this one’s going to be a bad blow

the duo keeping a close eye on all the guests…

they try to keep us all…mostly…together 

but they can light fires with their lines

Damian, PAR and Keith…whatever they’re discussing… 

I’m sure it’s an interesting debate

there’s a lot of topics they could cover

all of them can carry their poetic weight

Peter might be writing or reading

fantasy, erotica or introspection…

it could be any subject, really

he’s not a one note kinda situation 

and then there’s the lovely Brenda

she has a heart the size of the ocean

she’s genuine with no hidden agenda 

sharing emotions that happen to roll in

yes, we’re an eclectic bunch of souls

far more than the handful I can mention 

there’s the very prolific Adagio

with his Poe-esque expressions

you absolutely need to meet PoetSpeak

a comment from him is like the Holy Grail

Big Like may be all we really need

that phrase is a platinum appraisal 

Thomas takes us all on a journey 

and we’re always happy to ride along

he knows the art of telling a good story

his simplicity is unexpectedly profound

Styxian and Adelphina are the lovebirds

but don’t let their sweet-talk fool you

there’s a wealth of depth within their words

you can call it a kinda magic with those two
