Echoes of a Century

Summary:
For my 96 year old grandmother. Every day I get to have with her is more precious.

There’s a chariot…of fire

With wings that expand the breadth of sky as far as the eye can see

And it’s so intense that I…

Feel my knees will be weak as if the earth will shake beneath my feet

And the flames…of glory

Will descend in a downpour to cleanse and purify the heart and mind

While souls loom over

Grateful but with tears and lamentations asking for a little more time

It’s been a long road

One of many heartaches and pains and triumphs and trials to say the least

But at the top of the mountain

She may be tired, but her beautiful face reflects perfect balance and peace

She sits there…still stoic

With a deafening silence that echoes a century of life lived and loved

The last of a generation

Heroic, patiently waiting for that chariot of fire to descend from above
