Welcome to Stars Rite News
Hello, everyone!
I hope you’re all having a wonderful, safe, and creative summer. Every day I am amazed by the incredible talent shared on this site. The quality of writing continues to inspire me. While our commenting culture still has room to grow, I have seen steady improvement, and I appreciate everyone who takes the time to encourage and support fellow writers.
Congratulations to Our Summer 2026 Competition Winners!
First, I want to congratulate all of our Summer 2026 competition winners!
Choosing winners is never easy because the level of talent on Stars Rite continues to grow. Every competition reminds us just how many gifted poets and writers make this community special.
If you visit the competition page, you’ll find this season’s winners. I’ll also be linking the winning entries so everyone can enjoy reading them at their leisure. Congratulations to each of you, and thank you to everyone who participated.
Site Updates
As Stars Rite continues to grow, we’re always looking for ways to improve the experience while keeping the site welcoming and easy to use.
You may have noticed our new cover art options for profiles. Feel free to experiment and personalize your page! This feature is completely optional and is simply another way for you to express your creativity.
We’re also continuing to stay ahead of spam and unwanted activity. If you notice anything unusual on the site, please let us know as soon as possible so we can address it quickly.
Some of you may have noticed that I haven’t been posting as frequently lately. That’s because much of my time has been spent behind the scenes making improvements, fixing issues, and helping ensure everything continues to run smoothly. Thank you for your patience and support while we continue building Stars Rite together.
Hypo Frost Magazine
The Spring/Summer edition of Hypo Frost Magazine has officially been released!
The submissions were outstanding, and I have been working hard to make sure both the magazine and its contributors receive the recognition they deserve.
I’m excited to share that I’ve spoken with several library managers in New York who are interested in showcasing the magazine. They are also interested in introducing their poets and writers to the Stars Rite community, which is an exciting opportunity for everyone involved.
Submissions have already begun arriving for our Fall/Winter edition, which features the theme:
Take Me Through Your Looking Glass
This theme invites you to explore your inner world. As the seasons change, many of us become more reflective, revisiting memories, emotions, dreams, and experiences that have shaped us. Whether your work touches on mystery, suspense, horror, hope, or personal reflection, we encourage you to let your imagination guide the journey.
Thank you to everyone who continues to support Hypo Frost Magazine and helps make each issue something special.
Many of you have also asked whether Hypo Frost will be attending the next BookCon convention. At the moment, we’re waiting for official notification. If we’re invited back, our published authors will once again be showcased, just as they were this year.
National Poetry Month
I want to sincerely thank everyone who participated in National Poetry Month.
Whether you completed the entire month or simply challenged yourself to write as much as you could, you accomplished something worth celebrating. Every participant received a certificate because every effort deserves recognition.
Writing poetry every day for an entire month is a challenge, and it’s really a competition with yourself. It encourages growth, discipline, and creativity, and I hope even more members will join us next year.
Of course, I don’t want to leave out our storytellers.
We’re currently exploring the idea of hosting our own version of a National Writing Month specifically for short story and fiction writers. We’re working through the logistics to make sure it fits well within Stars Rite, and once everything is in place, I’ll be excited to share the details.
One of the best parts about participating in these writing events is that the work you create can become something even bigger. Many successful books begin as writing challenges, collections, or personal projects. In a few months, I’ll have an exciting announcement that will help writers take that next step.
Until Next Time…
Thank you all for being part of Stars Rite and for making this community such a welcoming place for writers of every experience level.
As always, if you notice anything unusual on the site, please let Sam or me know. We’ll do everything we can to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
Have a wonderful rest of your summer, keep writing, keep reading, and most importantly, keep inspiring one another.
Happy writing!
