Deep in hidden country
In the still of evening shade
Storing all inside the mind
Before the village starts to fade
Can you still take in the air
Can you still climb every tree
Or just lay bare your witness
To the tune of falling leaves
Waiting anxiously in silence
By a creek now running dry
Just praying for the rain
In a dark uncloudy sky
Gazing down the roads
That travel on for days
Empty in the night
Disappearing in the haze
Waiting patient for the secret
The meaning of it all
For the neighbor’s lonely song
And the big inside the small
Deep in hidden country
Alone now shook in thought
Searching blindly for a muse
In a land that time has fraught

hello dearest Brandon I liked the easy rhythm of such a place reminds me of where I live ❤️
