Where Flames Flow

HomePoetryWhere Flames Flow

I’ll trace each spark
Along
The shadowed bends,
Meeting
Every flicker
Where the river flows.

To drown
In that river
Tasting secrets forbidden
In a valley’s embrace
The flicker you lit
Is now
The flame that grows

Following your river
I drift
Tasting the flicker
In the valley’s fold
Where forbidden warmth
Turns each pulse
Into a quiet flame
I sink within the throes

Take me under
Wrap me in your current
Pulses as one
Devoured in steam
Thrusting deeper
In your grasp
Electric dance
Sinking where it glows

-Rivers
-Wander

    1. This appears to be a metaphor for a consuming lust. Something that draws in more and more heated passion the more it flows. Thrusting deeper. The last stanza sums it up nicely.
