It’s his 1st shift
Will he pass the test
A new hire’s working
Just trying to impress
Mixing drinks
The mood is right
Everyone is dancing
On this busy friday night
Drink after drink
The bartender’s serving
While he’s watching
Unnervingly observing
The DJ is mixing
As patrons dance
The club is hopping
In a laser lights trance
Then out of nowhere
And all of a sudden
Bodies start collapsing
Maybe a dozen
Throw up and blood
Now covering the ground
While others hallucinations
Were not coming down
Yelling and screaming
Pandemonium ensues
The chaos of this spectacle
In unobstructed views
Some people were frozen
And unable to run
While others were laughing
And still having fun
Then the butcher appeared
But instead of slashing
Impressed by the bartender
A new age assassin
Drinks that were mixed
With molly or arsenic
The bartenders roulette
From an insane lunatic
Noone was fighting back
Or had any resistance
It was easy to eliminate
Their living existence
A new team just formed
A match made in heaven
Victims of this bloody night
Totalling thirty seven

Powerfully penned, Mstrmnd. Excellent write my friend. Really dig your storytelling and your imagery. Nicely done. Appreciate you.

Thank you for commenting..I appreciate it..I think the hardest part of poetry is trying to tell a story or making the reader feel something emotionally in a min or 2
