I am a lighthouse in the sand
No ships to guide, no sea, no land
My beam reveals what isn’t there
Mirages lit by vacant air
I shine for eyes that never see
A signal lost in memory
My warnings echo through the dust
Where hope erodes and dreams combust
I stand for purpose out of place
A monument to empty grace
My tower leans on shifting ground
Its silence louder than its sound
I blink to mark what can’t be found
A guide to those who run aground
Yet every light I cast is blind
A truth that leaves no trace behind

Dark, sad. Great piece of poetry here.
Cool piece. Lighthouses are an imposing structure.
You can’t miss them unless you are in the trenches!
The way you put them blind to the eye is great.
Thanks for reading..trying to write about something different from my norm..a different level of thought invoking..thank you both for commenting
