Summary:
I penned this in July of 2024. It was posted on DUP. This was a late night musing, something I did a lot till recently. lol. So many projects so little time. Appreciate you. - Damian DeadLove.

Style means nothing without substance

That’s something money can’t buy

Walking through the world in a trance

Long enough to embrace living this lie

Social outcast learns how to survive

Turning loneliness into independence

Wanting to avoid the impending nosedive

Sometimes caution means ride the fence

Timid people constantly read the room

While they study the human psyche

Pessimistic views in lingering doom

Securing secrets under lock and key

Wise souls are always seeking truth

Trying to reason with their emotions

Hungry for justice wanting proof

Instead of going through the motions

Every example above are the pieces

For a puzzle of relative understanding

Until the urge of self-doubt increases

Sometimes my chaos gets demanding

    1. When I read your musing, a quote of Friedrich Nietzsche was the first thought that came to my mind: “You must have chaos inside to give birth to a dancing star. “It’s exactly the chaos, the self doubts, the questions upon questions, the deep reflections at night which give birth to a dancing star of inspirations writings and deep thoughts. Great work, dear Damian!

    2. This is the stanza that stuck out for me:

“ Wise souls are always seeking truth
Trying to reason with their emotions
      Hungry for justice wanting proof
Instead of going through the motions”

There can be so much chaos inside our minds because there can be so much turmoil in the world. How can we not lay our heads at night and not have everything rampage through our heads? Making sense of everything takes time and a lot out of us, but the brain is a brilliant machine; protecting, processing, healing. And lucky for us, yours delivers these musings that we gobble up like starving people in the desert.

      Brava, my friend.

    3. Dude, I’m not timid at all and yet I still read a room! I am extremely observant of my surroundings. It’s a crazy world yaknow!
Your write is a crowd of personalities, interesting in each of their ways. The rhyme makes it flow really well. It’s carrying a beat all its own. Well versed Damian.

    4. It takes so many approaches and responses to survive these days. And not the least of which is temporary retreat and regroup. How do your pieces always seem so relevant to every moment? Prophet, I’m telling you. Keep assembling the pieces of the puzzle, my friend

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Willow. So glad you connected with the write my friend. These days reading the room and critical thinking are required to survive it seems. I will always be piecing together the puzzle, it’s what I do. Appreciate you.

        Damian

    5. There’s a real honesty here in the way you weave survival, wisdom, and self‑doubt into one puzzle feels deeply human. The closing admission about chaos being “demanding” hit especially true.🙏🏻🕊️
