they sold our mental health
seeing us as pawns
to be played
with algorithms
keeping us engaged
with hate
no longer are the days
where we can talk
it’s all war with no civil
politicizing everything
now we are gripped
to this digital age
social media is the cage
keeping us enslaved
rotting our brains
and as clear as it is to me
I wonder if others feel the same?
being fed this waste
do they question it?
or are they just as helpless
being sucked into a fight
where there are no winners
poetry, video games and music
are few of the things I relish
but I never get feeds about that
no, it’s all nasty people with nasty views
disguising themselves as news
who knew that such knowledge would confuse
making us question our own neighbors
the people in charge are power hungry creeps
too filthy to ever feel shame
yet some worship them as Gods
even though they don’t even see us as human
more like cattle to feed their relentless hunger

I totally get this. Social media has hijacked our brains in a detrimental way to get clicks. People are going to have to wake up and purge themselves before life gets better. I see too many bad things especially on youtube.
Social media is blatantly set up to keep us angry yet we all act like it’s ok. I mean I fall for it as well. It’s hard to ignore the bullshit. But they want us angry at each other and not the crooks on the Hill. It will only get better when we vote in kind people and stop hating our neighbors. Though at this point we are way too far down that rabbit hole.
