strictly cautious of my soul
it shines sometimes gathering stars to it
they covet the lovely shimmer
desiring to know me better
my cover for a moment set aside
my thoughts tumble forth from my lips
metaphors for the sanctity of being
for a moment I glow
seeing the spark in anothers eyes disarms then unsettles me
my soul no longer expects another look
bashful I blush
then chastise myself for saying too much
midnight beckons and I go back to the comfort of the shadows
here no one can touch me
save one, I am in constant review
no one is harder on me than me
picking each moment up and gazing at it
rebuking myself for being so careless
massage the night and warm
the beauty of connection can't be out done
so I hug myself tightly knowing I am seen
it's in the awkward silences between breath
and light we touch the divine
and I see, my soul is understood
my seduction known

thank you graciously dearest Damian ❤️
Outstanding my friend. You take passion and love for this one person and enshrine it into a poem as divine as it is beautiful.
