My face – a mirror of a life that’s been lived
Thoughtfulness crinkled my skin
Laughter lines tell stories of shared joy
Deep reflections carved a crease on my forehead
My mind – both healer and weapon
Marcyless I speak words that can kill
My mouth is an eloquent mystery
Whispering ancient magic formulas
My soul – a fountain of purest love and light
There is a blazing fire burning inside of me
Rekindling the divine flame in human hearts
A lighthouse to guide then on their paths
Mindfully I go my individual way
Always aware of my surrounding
Ready to reach out a helping hand
I walk through life in beauty and grace

Beautifully penned, Sappho. This an incredible write my friend. Appreciate you.

I truly believe that you mean every word…
There’s something soothing, honest and enlivening in the way you write Elke.
Thanks, Jim
Greetings, Sappho (Elke) 🌿
It’s just Richard, dropping-in to say hello and partake of this eloquently laid Free Verse piece that has virtually soared my senses through the effulgent beauty of your poetic voice.
Your title caught my eye right-off, drawing me in to be greeted by your uniquely impacting art choice, leading down into the magical depths of words, lines, and fluently flowing lines that simply left me spellbound.
Within the musical timbre of your wondrous words dances the perfect spirit of an enthralling woman’s heart and soul … not the hallmark of a novice’s pen, but of one who’s lived ‘n done “that” to fullest measure, literally or through the magic of creative imagination … either way, I’m smitten!
Sappho’s “Ode to Aphrodite” is a Free Verse piece I read as a young lad, and your use of her name has mystified my manly maturity, let’s say.
Elke, I thank you ever-so warmly and gratefully for sharing You.
Namasté, Dear Poetess 🙏 ⁓ Richard🖌
