Pain
Pain ran down my leg
like it was speaking in tongues,
crazed English gibberish that
brought tears
and chaos.
The iron fisted chaos
that always wanted more,
and I was simply in the way.
I was caught in a downward spiral,
down,
down,
down into a chasm of sharp rocks
like teeth, ripping off my skin,
shredding me of my humanity.
How do you calm a mind
eaten by pain?

I do hope you’re healing now! There’s nothing adequate to describe that level of pain but you sure did it justice.
Thank you for your comment and concern, Willow. I am healing, but it’s taking so damn long. It’s been over 3 months now and there is still a lot of pain in the leg and knee. I can hear them talking and laughing. Ice (the solid water type) has become a welcome friend.
Thanks again Willow!!!
Yikes! This past year I had a severe sprained ankle. It felt like it was on fire! It swelled up like an elephant foot.
Went to the ER and did X-rays. Nothing broken thank god!
I can’t imagine how much pain that was when it is actually broken bones.
I’m sure you noticed by now I’m a huge baby when it comes to pain.
I can totally relate to the pain speaking in tongues!
Very well put Curt.
