No Leaves To Rustle
Bookmark
Summary:
No leaves to rustle, no birds to nest,
on tree skeletons with brittle cones.
A haunting grace waiting the thaw,
with a promise green, never be.
As winds sigh through cages of bones,
a dark beauty of their final rest.
With hollowed music, lonely and cold,
no leaves to rustle, no birds to nest.

This is a very beautiful and meaningful poem with rich imagery and brilliant wording, dear Adagio. Every season holds its own beauty! Most people appreciate only autumn’s colorful farewell. But in all its tristesse, the grey, rainy and foggy days, autumn demonstrates how to die with grace, knowing that without its dying there would be no rebirth within the circle of life in nature. Great work!
Thank you, Sappho.
