She’s not my role model but she is my hero.
She cooks and cleans and works and meets with friends and family and organizes everything.
She goes above and beyond and sacrifices sleep and rest to keep the family machine moving.
She never complains about an ache just fixes it or deals with it.
She puts up and puts out with me and for me.
A bad day is always better when shes around.
She’s remarkable.
She’s my hero.
And I,
sometimes the storm,
sometimes the child,
she endures me,
she forgives me,
she loves me
in the way the moon loves the ocean
pulling,
always pulling,
never leaving.
A bad day dissolves
when her shadow touches it.
She makes grief forget its name
and chaos hold its tongue.
She is not a angel
because angels float.
She remains.
She stays.
She burns slowly,
like a scented candle
no one thanks
until it’s gone.
She is my hero
not in a story,
but in the silence between
my tear drops.
She is
the reason I return to myself.
She is not my role model
She is
my wife

Awesome. More men should feel that way.
Thanks for liking Paula.
I can’t imagine I’m the only guy out there that has a wife for a hero. Some guys just haven’t suffered enough to know what a hero looks like.
There are a few people that post here that are heroic indeed….you included.I say that only from what I read between the lines.
