Good evening, I’m Damian DeadLove. Breaking news, folks. No, not that depressing propaganda that has infiltrated the world. I’m talking about SpotLight coming to Stars Rite.

It started from humble beginnings on DUP, but then turned into a powder keg and was adored by a select few. It has a very distinct vibe, it’s not everybody’s jam, ok.

All joshing aside, it had a decent following and was adored by some fine folks. Not every joke is gold, it’s not like I’m a professional comedian.

I will start by releasing what I’m dubbing the “Underground 7” in the month of June. In fact the first show is already up. So, I might of done this out of order.

I march to my own drum, folks. I’m a rebel when it comes to what’s expected. My approach is unorthodox at best. I don’t always know where I’m going, I really don’t.

I thought it would be clever to release a, “Public Service Announcement” about SpotLight coming out.

After I released the first episode mind you, that was about as much as I thought it through. It happens often, people.

Seriously though, about the time SpotLight came out I was riding high when it came to ideas. I did Backstage and was loving it. I was writing again. Telling my life experiences in music with the band: DeadLove. As well as life in general sometimes.

I was writing again it was all great. Then I had this epiphany of sorts, an idea that I thought would be so brilliant. I thought it’s be cool to do like a news spoof.

I even ran it by, Fia Naturie. Who looked at it in a practical manner, she liked the idea if I remember right. Then advised me on how hard it would be to coordinate so many writers.

Then I thought about it, and she was absolutely right. I smiled though and laughed to myself. Because I realized in that moment that I hadn’t completely lost my daydreaming mentality.

That childlike imagination to think big, and not worry about logistics. It was a very nostalgic moment to say the least. Here’s the skinny.

Ok, Fia, and I are the news anchors. We start off professional with our names and what the top story is etc. Then we just drift into talking about something that the story makes us think of. Taking turns pulling each other back to trying to tell the news.

With each one of also taking turns telling stories that have nothing to do with what the news story is. Basic gist, here is where it would get complicated.

I wanted, Keith (Visions_of_insanity) to be the weatherman. Who would start off giving a weather forecast professional like at first, then he too wonders off into a rant.

Imagine a reporter who has a segment called: “The Voice Of The People” He’s like a local celebrity, folks. I thought of one person in my head that had the street cred to pull this off.

The New York City Cowboy himself: Poetspeak.. I though just let him run wild with what ever he wants to talk about. Imagine the possibilities.

That was all the farther I got, folks. That’s already a four person collaboration, exchanging dialogue. Not to mention I was going to have somebody do Sports.

Cameramen, producer, etc. See how big we’d be talking. It’d take an act of congress to coordinate this production, folks. Maybe that was a bad example, they can’t get anything done.

Anything good anyways. Well that’s my story and I’m sticking to it. By the way July will be the month we’ll have our first new SpotLight exclusive to the Stars Rite era.

Be on notice, folks. I’ll be looking for poets and poetesses to interview. The SpotLight may shine on you next. Thanks for listening. Appreciate you. Peace, Love, and Lennon.

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Fia. So glad you connected with the story my friend. It would have been fun, but difficult as well. So it’s a bucket list item, maybe life will slow down someday and we’ll attempt it. I would expect you to take us down that rabbit hole. lol. I can’t wait to do a new SpotLight as well. But for now it’s the classic episodes. Appreciate you.
