If silence was once golden
It’s worth much more today
There’s very few amongst us
That don’t have lots to say
Airwaves filled with verbiage
the truth they don’t convey
that silence offers wisdom
which their noise can’t take away
Loud mouths keep on shouting
their voices rise and fall
I’ll bathe in my sweet silence
it’s the richest sound of all
Take note our useless guv’nors
truths told with bad intent
beats all fake news and lies
that your minders can invent
Silence is not absence
it is presence, deep and wise
and our leaders just don’t get it
they’re so easy to despise
I think I’ve made my point now:
that silence once was gold
try and find an hour each day
no words, no noise ….be bold.
I’m not so sure I can be bold, but I’ll cherish the boldness of a choice few any day.
Love this, Peter!
Seriously…if I hear them squawking these days I get a bit of gag reflex, followed immediately by pure rage. I gotta keep them on mute. Keep an eye out & soak in the silence…while we have it
Thanks ladies for reading and commenting….be silent …… be wise….be awake.
