her friends tried to warn her
they said he’s no good
the stories they tell Â
paint a picture of fire and brimstone Â
but the way he speaks
is oh so sweet
they would talk for hours
they even made poetry together Â
Â
she went on a date with the devil Â
and said… he’s not so bad
Â
a walk in the park Â
flirting with the slightest of gestures
the looks they get are of disdain
people have heard the stories Â
she has heard them too
surely they were distorted
all she sees is a heart that is tired Â
but is willing to be filled with love
so she ask herself Â
does she dare be the one?
Â
she went on a date with the devil Â
and said… he’s not so bad
Â
drank too much
got a little too wild
she stroked him while he played guitar
the rest of the night became a blur
woke up the next morning Â
got dressed and fixed her hair
feeling rather low
she was sure he wouldn’t call
but then suddenly Â
ring!* ring!*
guess he isn’t so bad after all
