So It Seems
Upon this Summer Solstice Eve’s hot night
You danced for me in dreamscape’s June moonlight
A sight exotic like I’ve never seen
I rue that it was only just a dream!
My mind’s eye winks with devilish intent
Resisting, as I grow more senescent
Your ageless beauty drives me to adore—
My soul, in chase, takes flight as beauty soars!
Alas, before the catch, upon the heights
My soul is struck incapable of flight
Debased, it crashes down into the dirt
Condemned forevermore, an introvert!
This memory of love still fills my dreams
Although alone, I’m well; or, so it seems
