shadows crawl beneath my skin
hunger prowlin behind my eyes
rampagin thru memories
reflectin pieces of who I was
he leans in with words like sandpaper
scrapin against my edges
pressin closer than this friendship allows
wearin down my last defense
sleepless nights breed bitter whispers
accountability’s weight is too heavy
causin my silence to grow teeth
animalistic and defensive
vengeance eruptin thru my veins
draggin her body between us
droppin my memories of her at his feet
pointin out the marks I left on her body
soft places I once knew
sins we never named
words I should’ve never said
spread out like evidence
her skin. her breath. her weak spots
laid bare between us
a weapon never before wielded
cuttin straight thru our friendship
this thing inside of me knows no mercy
knows only how to harm
edges blur and bonds dissolve
and anger remembers everythin
some creatures are born hungry
some hunger cannot be contained
some moments are designed for destruction
but you can’t surround a monster with the weak
and not expect him to feast
