The man, the woman, the child and the teen, they all came to ask for help
One was looking for love
Another for health
The other desired wealth
While the last was looking for a place to call home
They all come to see me at the same time
I only asked for a small favor in return
For it wasn’t a huge task for me to concoct the potions
They all agreed and lined up next to each other at my counter
Waiting expectantly, curiously, excitedly
So I pulled back the curtain displaying the shelf my potions sat upon.
One potion, the same exact bottles lined up next to each other for 4 people
I handed one to each of them and they all drank of their bottles at the same time
The thunder rumbled and the lightning crackled in warning of an impending storm.
So one by one they set out, before the storm arrived.
I watched them leave together, each parting ways at the end of the path.
The potion I knew would only help 2 of the 4. Maybe just one depending on their mindset.
The one looking for home would have to walk 2 more days
The one looking for love would have to wait 2 more years, if they closed the other doors they still had open.
The two looking for health and wealth could not be helped, for they already owned these luxuries If only they’d see.
